Weatherization Technician

Earthshare Construction LLC is seeking a highly skilled Weatherization Technician to accomplish the on-site operations of our weatherization projects. The Weatherization Technician will be instrumental in furthering Earthshare’s mission to enhance energy efficiency and reduce utility costs for our clients. Primary responsibilities include performing weatherization work such as insulating and air sealing basements, windows/doors, ceilings, attics, attic hatches, crawl spaces, knee walls, and catwalks. As part of the company’s weatherization team, the Weatherization Tech is also responsible for customer satisfaction and job-site readiness, including safety, protection of surfaces, and cleanliness. This role reports to the Weatherization Crew Lead and the Weatherization Project Manager/Energy Auditor. The ideal candidate will have a background in carpentry, an exceptional work ethic, and a passion for sustainable building practices. While prior experience with carpentry/weatherization techniques and applications is preferred, it is not required and Earthshare will train individuals on skills that are unfamiliar to them.

The ideal candidate would have weatherization experience with some knowledge of building science and residential energy efficiency. However, a background in the trades or other relevant hands-on work could be a sufficient substitute. The candidate would be interested in living and working in the Upper Valley area for an extended period. We value diversity and inclusion, and welcome applications from anyone and everyone.

Desired Skills and Competencies

  • general knowledge of basic carpentry, building materials, and installation/repairs

  • ability to comfortably and safely operate the full complement of carpentry tools

  • comfort working in small, unconditioned spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces

  • ability to climb ladders, kneel, crawl and operate tools at heights or in cramped quarters

  • capacity to take direction and manage materials on a job site

  • ensures that projects meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction

  • takes responsibility for completing all installation, repair, punch list, and job close-out tasks

  • shows ongoing interest in continuing education and development

  • valid driver’s license with willingness and ability to drive company vehicle to sites within 30-60 minutes of our office and shop in Lebanon, NH.

  • a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, and aptitude for both independent and team-oriented work

Schedule, Wage, and Advancement

A Weatherization Technician is expected to work a minimum of 32-40 hours per week during the business hours of 7:30am–5pm on weekdays, typically tackling one project a week. The pay range is $20-$28/hr, depending on experience, with room to advance.
